As many of you know, the Honorable District Court Judge Annette Plese
has been elected to Superior Court. Her District Court position will soon be
vacant. I was evaluated for appointment to a 2006 District Court vacancy.
After an extensive merit selection process, the judicial review panel
determined that I had the specific legal experience, judicial temperament,
impartiality, communication style and work ethic to be a good District Court
judge. Many of my friends, family, and supporters have asked me to seek
appointment to the upcoming District Court vacancy. After lots of thought
and prayer, I have decided to throw my hat in the ring.
The County Commissioners, after consultation with local attorneys,
judicial officers, and private citizens will appoint someone to fill this judicial
vacancy. It is important that you contact Commissioners Todd Mielke, Mark
Richard and Bonnie Mager and let them know your thoughts as to who
should be appointed.
